Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 allows with its variations management system to have multiple versions of a web interface for layouts and labels.
However, it's not a real multilingual management for interfaces and labels; it's not working by example with a user profile or with a contextual menu.
The vocation of the variations management system is sufficient for the content publishing; but becomes inadequate for a simple, user-friendly and efficient interfaces translation system.
The variations management system duplicates the site rather than to translate dynamically the interface.
In addition, if SharePoint 2007 is able to manage the variations, this feature doesn't exist with WSS: one language only for WSS site.

This translation tool that installs as a SharePoint feature, works with MOSS and WSS sites for all SharePoint interfaces (administratives and publics) and its components.
