Connect instantly to share files, share resources and send messages

Colligo® Workgroup Edition (WE) software enables mobile teams equipped with wireless capable laptops to instantly and securely network together no matter where they are working - at the client site or on the road. Once connected, they can share files, share an Internet connection, share a printer, collaborate on a document, chat, compare calendars and much more.

Colligo Workgroup Edition Version 4.0 enables users to easily and securely share out Windows folders and printers. These shared resources are enabled through the Colligo application and are protected using IPSec encryption, ensuring a high level of security and control. Shared folders can be used to extend client-server applications that require a central file store on one of the laptops that must be accessed by other team members over the wireless link.

Like other Colligo applications, Workgroup Edition is uncomplicated, yet powerful software for laptop users. It has been deployed at hundreds of companies to improve the productivity and reduce the frustration within their mobile teams. Workgroup Edition has also proven invaluable to IT departments as it can significantly reduce the support costs associated with remote and mobile teams.

How It Works

Colligo Workgroup Edition allows multiple users to communicate electronically without requiring them to be attached to their corporate network or the Internet. They can set up a private secure network directly between their laptops, so to fully realize the features and functionality of Colligo Workgroup Edition, two or more users must be running it simultaneously. While Colligo Workgroup Edition is used most frequently over ad hoc Wireless Local Area Networks (WiFi), it is an IP-based application and therefore operates regardless of the underlying connectivity technology.

Colligo Workgroup Edition is packed with tools that let users interact with their private workgroup community in ways they never thought possible outside of the office. And it's super easy to use. Users are up and operating in just three simple steps.

Step 1 - Discover

At the click of a button, users can create and use their own WiFi 802.11 ad hoc instant network, however Colligo Workgroup Edition can also be used on a wired or wireless network in the office. Once they have created an instant network, Colligo Workgroup Edition automatically discovers other users in the vicinity and then displays their availability and presence information.

Step 2 - Connect

Authenticate other users and set up an encrypted connection. Colligo's code word based technology guards against "man in the middle" attacks. All authenticated users are shown in regular font (as opposed to italics for unauthenticated users) and are connected via a 168-bit SSL encryption, the same level of security used for Internet banking.

Step 3 - Interact

\Collaborate with other users by exchanging files and messages to keep track of ideas, changes and additions on a real-time basis. Chat, interact and collaborate or send an electronic sticky note. Drag and drop files over other user names to instantly transfer to a single user or broadcast to all authenticated users. Share resources such as printers, Internet connections or other peripherals. Share Microsoft® Outlook® calendars to view free/busy time (without revealing your appointments) and group meeting requests. Share out Windows® folders to the other users on the network. This enables users to act like file servers on the instant network, so client-server applications (such as CaseWare® Working Papers) work easily out of the office in a local workgroup configuration.
