SharePoint Solution Platform Overview
SharePoint in-a-box™ is offered in multiple formats to allow organizations to expedite the development of business solutions. SharePoint in-a-box™, is an Alcero innovation, and the solutions we offer require minimal customization and can be used right out of the box. This enables you to take advantage of the SharePoint 2007 platform quickly and efficiently.
We have developed an application architecture, SharePoint Infrastructure Solution Architecture™ (SISA™), which allows users to set up a common foundation on SharePoint. The entire Alcero product portfolio is based on the SISA™architecture.
SharePoint in-a-box™ includes the following elements:
Integrated rollout
Our solutions are rolled out using installation and update tools provided when you purchase an Alcero product. Our solutions do not require any development, consultant or integration expertise when they are rolled out. We have developed a roll-out solution that allows a basic user to roll out our solutions.
Integrated architecture
Classification schemes, metadata, lists, data models, security, etc., are aspects which were already embedded in our SharePoint in-a-box™ solutions. We estimate that 20% of the solution will need to be customized and modified to meet your specific needs. Thanks to our partners, you will be able to customize these products and to make any modifications required to meet your operational needs.
Windows SharePoint Package “WSP”
The SharePoint platform allows the development of complex products that are scripted and packaged so that they can be installed in a range of different environments. The advantage of a WSP package for the customer is that it guarantees that the rollout of the product will not have any impact on its environment, and the WSP can still be installed as needed. SharePoint is a platform which allows the installation of a full array of solutions, and we guarantee that its integrity will not be jeopardized.
Content-type Architecture
Organizations have long identified the value of information and the rules of management associated with it. The challenge is to systematize these management rules in SharePoint. Safety, workflow, metadata replication, offsetting, copy, returns and more are all activities for which you may wish to provide a framework. Our content-type architecture enables you to integrate a business logic based on the types of information you want to use as a basis for your business rules, and make your information portable across all Alcero products.
Unified development
One of the major challenges of organizations and solution providers is to facilitate the integration of various solutions that are typically rolled out within organizations. For example, customer support must be able to interact with a customer relations management solution, which should offer access to information from another SharePoint application. To ensure the portability and universality of the processes and information, our development framework within SISA™ is unified and integrated. As a result, all our solutions complement each other and are integrated, facilitating the development of a comprehensive solution.
