The Bamboo Expire Password Web Part monitors your SharePoint users account expiration dates and sends out a notification email message before the account expiration date. A Web Part also can be installed in the portal login page where it will warn the user about the impending password expiration date. The IT administrator can also force the users to change their password within the grace period by re-directing them to a Password Change page (See our Password Change Web Part for self-service password change).
Most organizations that use SharePoint also leverage Active Directory and NT user account management system. Part of a good security practice is to enforcing password policies such as creating a strong password and password expiration. However, this password expiration policy also causes your IT Administration to spend countless support hours helping your SharePoint users reset their expired passwords. Our solution allows SP users to proactively change their passwords before it expires.
